What is the Oklahoma Horticultural Society?

The Oklahoma Horticultural Society (OHS) is a group of amateurs and professionals alike, who are united by a common interest in horticulture and fine gardening. As a group, we share knowledge, ideas, and plants. We promote good gardening and horticultural practices that help the environment and beauty of the land. OHS is a statewide organization comprised of people like you, who are involved in growing plants, creating gardens, developing landscapes, establishing wildscapes, and in general beautifying our yards, parks, and all of Oklahoma.

We invite you to join us, even if your garden is just a flower pot in the window. You'll find us to be friendly people who love to be helpful and share gardening ideas, tips, plants, and stories. We hold regular educational meetings, bring in renowned speakers for our lecture series, and conduct private and botanical garden tours including the annual OKC Garden Tour for Connoisseurs. We have fund raising activities to provide money for education, scholarships and programs sponsored by OHS. As a member of OHS, you'll receive the OHS Horizon magazine and a one year membership to the American Horticultural Society, including benefits such as 6 issues of the American Gardener magazine and free admission and additional benefits at botanical gardens, arboretums and conseratories throughout North America.

Join us as we: Foster and stimulate horticultural interest in Oklahoma; Promote gardening and share knowledge of growing vegetables, fruits, flowers, trees, shrubs, and ground covers; Explore and learn about the very best plants for our Oklahoma climate; Tour public and private gardens across Oklahoma, the US, and the world; Share ideas about gardening in Oklahoma and exchange plants; Attend monthly meeting and listen to some of the nation's top gardeners and lecturers.
